atlantic fuels terminal

In September 2008, Welding Inspection Services were heavily involved in the QA & inspection requirements for the new Atlantic Fuels Terminal at Foynes Port in County Limerick. The construction of these was carried out by Foynes Engineering Limited. Inspections included Gamma Radiography, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Liquid Penetrant Inspection, Visual Inspections etc.

The project consisted of the construction of 16 tanks in two bunds. Bund 1 with 10 tanks and bund 2 with 6 tanks. The construction of these tanks took just over 12 months, with inspection requirements needed on a daily basis. The associated pipework for these tanks is in an advanced state of completion, which Welding Inspection Services Limited is also carrying out the inspection on.
